Nice plants C Way

Regarding matters with under pot / over pot for N. truncata or other epiphytic nep species/hybrids, I believe it's not so much of the size of the pot but how fast the water in the pot can be drained and evaporated, that's the most important point that most ppl overlook. It's very simple, bigger pot will have larger capacity to hold more water hence it's will stay wet longer and vice versa.

If you want to use bigger pot, play around with the mixture of media(s) so that it can be well draining, airy and to allow water to evaporate fast for nep like N. truncata, N. veitchii and etc. If you use smaller pots (in relation to the size of the plants), you could probably get by by using pure LFS along with controlled watering. (As far as I know, YG used pure LFS as their potting media)

Just remember, there're infinate ways to archieve the same result. Someways make work for me but not for you... it's also depending on your growing environment, watering frequency and other factors... but the ultimate goal is to achieve what a certain nep species/hybrids preferred for the specific characteristic of their media. My tiny 2 cents...
