They're a little different, I'm not actually certain when they flower, mine haven't flowered for me yet. Though I haven't had them a year yet, so I'll see, I guess.
I wouldn't want to put one in the same pot with a lithops, they'd not always want watering at the same time. But they are very similar in care, yes.
