I was reading a book about Pygmy Drosera last night and was interested to read that some growers have no problem growing pygmies for several years without a dormancy period. Apparently, according to the book I was reading, the dormancy is triggered by the photo period. If the photo period falls below 8 hours dormancy/gemmae production is triggered.

With this information it may not be to difficult to grow pygmies in the tropics.

As mentioned by Tarence one of the keys is to ensure that the pots are deep enough to accomodate the roots. The pot doesn't need to be very wide but depth is important. I have read of people growing pygmies in disposable cups with holes drilled in the bottom for drainage.
