David, liniflora is the easiest Byblis to germinate. The others require treatment to germinate. The widest used practice is Giberallic Acid. The seeds are soaked in a treatment for 24 hours before they are sown to initiate growth.

As for the number of species there are quite a few. B. gigantea and lamellata are perennial species. B. aquatica, filifolia, guehoi, liniflora and rorida are annuals.
