Waa...must be very auspicious for you. Oh...I mean the infl. ofcourse. You will see the sepals slowly turn to pastel yellow. I don't really know what trigger it to bloom. Sometimes stress can be a possible cause, sometimes it simply bloom as it wish to.

The term caulescent simply means with stem; ie: stem forming plants and vivipara means with pups growing out from finished inflorescence stalk.
