This depends on the seeds. You will need giberallic acid or some other treatment if you are planning on growing Tuberous Drosera, many Byblis or other plants that rely on bush fires for germination.
These plants need something to breakdown the thick seedcoat to allow them to germinate. It certainly wont harm seeds that don't have a thick seed coat but will promote faster germination on many species.
