Update on leaf cuttings of D. adelae from sickly plant (scale infested);
On Oct. 9th I decided to try to cut and 'clean' the leaves and did 3 procedures;
1. clean just with toothpick
2. clean with alcohol and toothpick
3. just leave alone
Now, on Nov. 3rd I see that 1 & 2 have both formed lots of little plantlets! While 3 hasn't done anything (yet). I noticed that a lot of the original leaf tissue was damaged by the pressure of the toothpicks and seemed to just 'melt' away, but it seems to have had little effect on their ability to form new plantlets. I did not change the water in the cases at all, this is the same water I started with on Oct 9th. In the future I think I will change the water more frequently as I can see algae forming in the bottom of all containers. So, there
is hope for any plants that look beyond hope!
