Effective But EXPENSIVE! Lighting
« Thread Started on May 7, 2007, 1:09pm » Well if you have ALOT of money, these are the lights for you if you want to grow your carnivorous plants indoors.

http://homeharvest.com/hydrofarmcompactfluorescents.htm

These come in 2700K and 6400K, both great for growing plants (6400K being more important for carni plants but having 1 of each would be good).

Comes in 125w and 200w, full sun is basically about 250w 12inches above the plants. So if you have RM1000! to spare go ahead and buy 2 125w lights one of each colour spectrum and hang them a foot over your plants, 3 feet away for neps XD

Edit: they do have some more attractive lighting too. Low heat high lumen. But it still would cost about RM1000 haha.

If you can afford the lights you can afford that bill haha. Plus if you want flytraps to go really red with artificial lighting you need that much power.

And the 2nd one there, the Tek Lights, it may be expensive but it is very bright for the wattage, light weight, very little heat, and only 2.5 inch thick with imported german reflectors which reflect 95% of light making it even more powerful. Might cost a bomb but gotta admit it's good haha. I wanna find out if they sell Tek Lighting here in Malaysia.
