Hi cbkhoon

Well i had my tough times with nepenthes ventrata by immeditaly after i bought it i put it out in full sun....Even though it was a hardy plant after a few days all the pitchers dry off....So if you wanna put it to direct sun or even if you just wanna put it in a sunnier area slowly adapt it..Maybe after 2-3weeks it will harden off and you can leave it there on its own.

Hi Athene

I never tried though in your case where putting your ventrata in a shadier condition the nep produces bigger and redder pitchers. But as you said i did realise that the pitchers didn't really last very long for me probally max around 4 months where normally my neps have pitchers for minimumly 6 months+ most of the time.As you said it did grow very robustly and produced many pitchers.

As for some of the pitchers which were hiding in between pots or under my palm tree or even under the plant the pitchers were very green....While those under burning sun were much redder.I'm not sure if they are upper pitchers which i doubt because they're tendrills didn't curl or anything and they look quite alike as the lowers.I say this because since upper pitchers of most neps are less attractive or maybe in other words less colourful.
