Different media will have different moisture retaining properties, you just have to adapt the watering frequency. Should be no problem.... I hope
. Burnt earth from different locality tends to be a bit different, some might contain excess minerals that certain neps can't handle. It's better if you can soak and rinse the burnt earth several times before using it. If not, you can always flush the media with plenty of water if you have alerady used the burnt earth.
