Re: Anyone seen this??
It's definitely got a lot of Viking in it! I have so many hybrid crosses with Viking in them (i.e, viking x coccinea, v. x amp, v. x mirabilis, v. x raff, etc.) and every batch has huge variation in it. For every 100 plants there seem to be 3-4 major groups of individuals that look similar and completely different from the other groups. The Tiger x Viking I am growing show much more 'tiger' influence and almost no viking. This seems the opposite, perhaps a Viking mother? That's the fun of growing from seed! Your's has a spectacularly good shape (This is the most desired shape for the Thai collectors), huge flaring wings, deep color, a contrasting peristome...it could be pure Viking or could be any one of half a dozen crosses, but it's just great whatever it is! The pitcher development looks makes me think that this is on a fairly mature plant? How big is it?
Congratulations on a great new plant cpnut!
