Hi Tran,
The export laws from Sarawak require a lot of paperwork and it is all based upon "their" rules and schedule. Sometimes it is 4 weeks or longer just to get the various permits issued before your plants can be shipped. You are probably getting the required ; Forestry Service Permit, CITIES Permit, and a Phytosanitary certificate, depending on what plants you bought. MT is usually pretty clear about this in their correspondence with buyers. I wouldn't necessarily get all worried about it yet. The bigger problem will come on your receiving end when the VN postal/customs/ag department get their hands on your box! Good luck! I imagine you are communicating with Juliana at MT. She has always been very good at informing me about orders. I'm not sure about Malaysia's holiday schedule, but if it's anything like Thailand's, the office might have been closed for a few days. ~Shawn Last edited by shawnintland; 18th July 2009 at 11:05 PM. I know that they have shipped one batch overseas on Thursday. Wonder yours included. You got a order number right? Why not email them to enquire.

As far as I am concern and from growers in Malaysia, they are reliable and their prices are competitive. Perhaps it would be better for you to go through their website and compare prices with other nurseries before you make your decision.

MT prices are pretty competitive. However web purchases are you have to include forwarding fee too. Maybe that is what makes it slightly expensive. In your case, I don't think sending stuff to Selangor needs any phytosanitary or Cites.
I personally have bought stuff from them lately. Got them pretty soon and in good order. Alternatively, YG in Cameron Highlands is also a good alternative.

For small qty order, you can order from MT. I have done a few orders with them, so far so good. As for YG, they mainly deal in large qty orders for nurseries. Hope this help.
If you want good one on one customer service (asking for growing tips, looking for a certain nep species and etc... ) Fauzi is the one you should approach. |
