Hi people!

In this days i will buy some sarracenias... the problem is:
They will be sended from the northern hemisphere, and i live in Argentine... so... there i think they are starting to grow, they finish the hibernation.. but heeeeeeere..... mines are starting to enter in dormacy so...
what i have to do???
when they arrive i let them outside or they could die??

maybe you can put them inside your house and provide them light a bit and a bit warm, then slowly let put them out slowly so that they can start adapt faster, but it will be better if you got a terrarium , you can direct put inside there immediately, now just hope they can acclimated with that slowly....that my opinion, you had to ask someone more expert on having climate on his area...my place all day is sunny....haha

I think you might want to grow them in a terrarium or somewhere with the growing conditions while your area experiences dormancy. Then, when the dormancy is finally over, you can put the plants outside. The next time your area has winter, your sarracenias should go into dormancy by themselves. You should ask the opinions of the sarras expert here, I'm only suggesting. Good luck.

Yes, but my question is if they could survive a looong growing season with out risk of died... is to late now, i have make the payment so... wish me good luck!

Nevertheless if any sarracenia expert see this post, i would be grateful if he/she answer :smile:

sure ....skip one dormancy won't cost it lives....my sarracenia chelsonii and survive without dormancy for 3years already...
