Re: VFt seeds..

yep,the seeds that John gave us is from a Big mouth.but when it germinates,it wont follow the mom's charactheristics so u can only call it typical.

they sometimes do follow their parent's charactheristics but the "blood" isnt as same as the mother no more,so just call it typical or just VFT :)

Re: VFt seeds..

when sowing vft seeds do you cove them with a cover and put in full malaysia sun ?????

Harris Azariel 2nd February 2011 01:06 PM

Re: VFt seeds..

what do u mean cover?
i usualy sow the seeds in a small pot, then i sit the pot in 1/4 water tray fill with water.
i put a thin shade cloth above it to not to expose it to hot sun.but once it germinates,u can let it feel fullsun:smile:

Good Luck!

Re: VFt seeds..

Harris ..... my meaning was to cover the pots with a plactic cap to keep(increase) humidity in the pot ...............u sow before sarra seeds????
if yes ... did u succeed?

Harris Azariel 2nd February 2011 08:24 PM

Re: VFt seeds..

this is my first time on sarra seeds.
no need to cover the pot with plastic.just provide water tray below the pot to keep the media moist-wet .once it germinates, lessen the wetness of the media.

Re: VFt seeds..

Good job, Sam. Provide them more sunlight gradually, that help a lot in growth. Remember to protect them from rain, get a sheet of plastic or glass to place on top, please leave a gap for air circulation especially under hot sun. :1thumbup::laugh:

Re: VFt seeds..

TS.........
i currently grow them under lighting...........
i think they cant handle the malaysia sun...................
i will harden them when thay are about 1-2cm in diameter.........
but of 10 seeds i lost 5 seeds and 3 died = 2 alive
so i am waiting for some rare cross seeds and hope they come out as their parents...........*biggrin2*

Re: VFt seeds..

Of course they can take our tropical sun. But you must provide them with some rain protection. They did well in my place, at least.
