N. x hookeriana - new colour form?
« Thread Started on Dec 11, 2007, 7:40pm »
I believe this may be a new colour form of N. x hookeriana. Someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong. We made it using N. ampullaria 'Harlequin' and a speckled N. rafflesiana (actually the plant hanging outside my front door in Siggi's video if you've seen that) . It's still young. Some clones came out speckled and some are like this:

Rob and Robert,

Your red hooks are really nice.

Robert, I thought I saw your red specked hook in the "Red parade" thread that you posted a while ago.

Rgds,
Isaac

Hi,

Wait.... don't worry, I'll try to get them if I am fast enough. Normally this type of plants will only last about 1 week or so from the pricelist....... remember like the ampullaria x ventricosa. Last time ordered 20 only can get 10 plant.

At last, a tc worth buying! Great news, I rescind my comments on (some) tc being unworthy of growing! This is a good clone for keeping (not necessarily breeding)!

I've never really cared for this hybrid at all, but that color form does it for me.

Woah! Not everything I post is a commercial offering. I sometimes post photos of things from my own collection only for fun. The plant in the photo is seed-grown. The seeds germinated in-vitro have all so far come out with merely speckled colourations, so it may be a while yet, if at all before we ship any out.

Anyway, red amp (& 'Harlequin') and raff are coming into flower again now so there's a chance to attempt to recreate it.

Robert, I stand corrected. Mother nature beat me to it on that one. Similar colouration but very different in form.

Add another point to the seed-grown debate.

Are those white patches on the underside of the lid glandular? If so, interesting, as it seems that glandular patches in that area are usually more colored than the lid. I know that doesn't make too much sense...kind of hard to verbalize what I'm trying to describe. « Last Edit: Dec 17, 2007, 10:37am by phissionkorps »Link to Post - Back to Top LoggedNatura non facit saltum
