xVentrata losing pitchers

Hi,

I recently repotted my xVentrata which had 2 basals. Now, the large xVentrata is starting to lose its pitchers. It used to be doing well but i suspect that cutting away the basal's has given it a shock.
Is it normal that it loses it's pitchers after you remove the basal's?
Is there something i can do to help the plant or should i just leave it and will it recuperate with time?

N ventrata is a very vigorous grower and a basal will not shock the plant or slow the growth of the plant.You might only need to repoted basal shoots from slow growing neps,for N ventrata there's no need for that.But since u repotted it its fine too.

Im just guessing maybe when u repotted it,the plant's roots was damaged in some way or maybe u droped it which caused the plant to receive some shock.Basal removal rarely affects both basals and the mother plant.And also how long are those pitchers on the mother plant???Each pitchers can only last between months and a year+ The longest mine every lived was 2 years which is my ventrata.If your ventrata leaves are not affected or anything just leave it there and let it heal.

Thx. The leaves are indeed still green and healthy looking. The basals didnt come off as easy and i had to use a knife to cut them loose. I guess that i damaged some roots and this caused the shock.
Some of the pitchers were up to 6 months old and some were starting to get brown. After the repotting all of the pitchers started to go brown (even the once which were just 1-2 weeks old) so shock seems the most logical explanation.

Just in case, watch out if the leaves wilt. If it does you have to act quick or you'll loose the plant. When that happens it means water is not getting to the plant. It could be due to damaged roots etc. Most likely its due to shock like what Gan3sh mentioned.

N. x ventrata produces pitchers periodically. Sometimes for no apparent reason, it stops pitchering for months. The removal of the two basals will not cause the main vine to stop pitchering, neither will repotting. Not unless the root mass is injured during the process.
