Colourful Hybrids galore!!!
Hey every1,I was fiddling with my plants 3 months ago with their pollen and flowers, guess what, seedlings of (stenophylla x ampullaria) x (Sanguinea x lowii) and (ampullaria x albomarginata) x (Bicalcarata x Stenophylla) just emerge from their shells!!They kinda look like newborn hairy aliens though. Also, does anyone here has any home made hybrids for 'Show and Tell'?

Re: Colourful Hybrids galore!!!
Here are some of my homegrown hybrids. The plants are about 2 years old. The mother plant is N. Splendiana, which is easy to make hybrids from since it always seems to be in bloom. It's vigorous, and it usually passes that trait on to its progeny.

Re: Colourful Hybrids galore!!!
Hi Yamanaka,
I'm no expert in Nepenthes but one thing for sure I can tell you is that you are having a very complex hybrid coming up. There definetely will be very variable seedlings in your coming batch seeds. I think you have to grow all of them up to see which have the most desirable traits to keep. Good luck! |
