I have my doubts about this actually working. Most of my pitchers (especially on "juvenile" plants) significantly increase in size naturally. Of course final size is dependent on conditions too, but given perfect conditions, pitchers are predetermined to only reach a certain size. When there there would be a natural progression of say, 6, 8.5, then 10 inches, manually aborting the 2nd pitcher in the lineup more than likely only gives the illusion that the 3rd pitcher will be larger than it would otherwise. To prove this even works, the minimum you would need is multiple plants of the same clone at the same stage in growth in the same exact conditions, half with a "2nd" pitcher removed, and half that haven't been messed with. Either way, I don't buy it.

Talking Re: A little trick...!

You know Folks!
I have a large Raff which didnt pitcher for me, but basal like crazy.

I decide to cut off all the undevelop pitcher (dont know the actually name) and leave one new fresh leaf alone.

Three weeks later, I noticed the uncut pitcher leaf start to show more promising. I dont hope for bigger pitcher but hope for it to pitcher.

I have one Veitchii which doesnt want to pitcher nearly more than a year. Today I will try it out, see whether I can force it to pitcher!!

Project B starts today, 15 aug 08.
