Hello everybody!
Hello!
My name is Mateusz (nick: Gringo) and I live a little bit further than Malaysia or the surrounding areas - I live in Poland , exactly near Rybnik. I grow carnivorous plants since 2003. I don't have so good environment as you in the South - East Asia to grow Nepenthes, but exotic plants are my favourite ones (especially Nepenthes and Heliamphoras ). I made an account here, because I always wanted to keep in contact with people with the same interests as mine and living in a so far away country from Poland . I hope that I'll learn some useful things for cultivation here, and maybe one day help you all. Regards, Gringo |

Re: Hello everybody!
No, I grow my Nepenthes, ephiphytic Utricularias, Brocchinias and one Heliamphora in a terrarium. There is not much light during winter (only 46W ), but in the begginnings I grew my plants on the windowsill, without any extra light during winter, so they are prepared for this . What about Heliamphora - I've got only one now, but when I'll earn some extra money I'll buy another ones. My growlist:

Re: Hello everybody!
A very warm welcome to you, Gringo. Hope you enjoy the forum. Yes, we should share and help each other, that's what the forum for!
In Poland, I think you are more readily for highland neps then we do, most of us living in the lowland! Heliamphora are more comfortable in your place for sure. Hey! you are lucky! Welcome again! |

Yes, Brocchinia reducta and B. hechtioides are carnivorous, B. tatei is supposed to be a CP, too.
