Is this fungal problem?
« Thread Started on Nov 10, 2007, 11:51pm » My N.xMiranda with the huge upper pitchers has got this fungal/mold kind of stuffs on the the lips. It started on one pitcher than more are infected. My N. xVentrata also has been affected, even the new plant. However other neps. in the same area & the miranda that's in another part of the garden are thankfully not affected.

Another thing I noticed, the miranda pitchers traps a lot of insects, but the insects such as bettles would get all this maggots in the pitcher while decompossing. Is this bad for the plant? Is it a contributing factor to the mold?

Any idea to solve this problems?

Mould forming on the peristome is common because of the nectar produced.

« Reply #2 on Nov 12, 2007, 8:46am » It happens to my miranda too and usually to the older pitchers. Sometimes I wash them or give them a shower everyonce in a while or I just cut those off. My. xventrata also has this problem
