Dear everyone,

Forgive kenneth if you can. He is still young and everyone makes mistakes once in a while. Futhermore, I think he means that people who wish to make a minibog should not use shells.

Kenneth, do watch out what you are writting in the future, people may misunderstand and blame you. So do watch out, I mean no offense.

I know this is rather personal and a little touchy subject that I should not involve myself in, but I do not wih our forum to have a bad image. Whats more, there are younger people than ken and it will not be a good example.

So lets just forget about this situation and return back to our CP madness?

I don't think I will be starting a minibog, today I made a HUGE mistake, I soaked sphagnum in water for two and a half day and it stinks a lot....!!!! hate it! Fauzi knows, don't tell anyone, Fauzi why I soaked sphagnum moss soo longgg....hehehe.

Have a nice day, everyone.

Cheers

... i also worry bout my neps when i go out cos normally when i come home my neps will all look wilty which will normally recover after a day when i give them all a nice soak.
Hi Ken. Thanks for your explaination. Appreciate it.

By the way, just a tip for you if you want to travel outstation for holidays. Just in case you want to try it out. This is what I do and it works well for me. I would shift them to a place with no direct sunlight (just bright light) and place them in pails/ or on water saucer. Pour about 2 inches or more of water into the pail or water tray.

I can be gone for 1-2 weeks and the plants will be fine when I get back.

Hey Nice tip there David about keeping a minibog happy when going out for short trips.

Hey guys about soaking sphagnum, I soak mine all the time, in fact I have some soaking in rainwater now. They do stink at first, but after a while they don't, you just change the water when they do. Why soak? If you don't, then the sphagnum is "thirsty" when you use them to pot, they will drink up the water first before the water gets to your plants, that means your plant will be thirsty for maybe a day or two depending on how often you water. Well this is my two cents only.
