It can be used. Either one pellet into every open pitcher monthly or one pellet into every half-brown pitcher biweekly.

Ken,
Feeding fish pellets is safe because the pitchers will just absorb what they need. Excess will be left behind and you'll throw it out when you cut away the pitchers when they turn all brown. A monthly interval gives the plant some rest inbetween. Also, you would get about a new leaf a month if your plant is already growing vigorously. The growth spurt (if any) would be visible within that time frame. Do remember that light level needs to be good when the plant is being fed. Otherwise, you are wasting your fish pellets. ![]() |

Growth spurt put simply is your plants suddenly growing faster.
![]() If your pellet is only 1mm across, you can put around 5 in each pitcher which is at least 3" and above. Put less in smaller pitchers to prevent rotting of nice pitchers. I would usually feed only the half-brown pitchers. Even if they are overloaded and turn brown at the base, I can simply just cut them off. |

Hi Ali
Well i guess so.....unless there are stuff which are not normally in normal fish food. Hi Marvin Well to me nepenthes are the most hardy among all the species of CPs for exmaple they can also take tap water which most CPs can't take.If i were you i better try it on nepenthes first since i've never tried on other CPs so i can't help much. |

So it is ok to feed fish pellets to neps. That's great since I have nothing else to feed them with.
Over feeding only hurts the pitcher right? Just want to know in case something goes wrong.
