I have a lot of experience with plant pests. The problem is that i had never seen these on nepenthes or any other of my plants before. I've been growing nepenthes and other cp's for about 7 years now and this is the first time i've encountered these bugs.

They are indeed causing damage to the plants. The damage is similar to that caused by spidermites. Discoloration and yellowing of the leaves. They also seem to leave black spots similar to those left by thrips or aphids as well as lay eggs on the underside of the leaves.

I dont have a severe infestation, but i wanted to know the ID so as to know how to control and prevent further damage.

Anybody have any recommendations as to how to kill/get rid of/repel these insects?

Thanks a lot for your prompt answers.

Rick

Spray pyrethrum. Don't think your plant can get hurt. If you don't feel safe, just wash the plant a day or two after spraying. Repeat several times to ensure proper kill.
