Automatic Water Mister
« Thread Started on Oct 14, 2007, 1:31pm » Hi all,
Is anybody here knows where to buy an automatic water mister for plants? I believe it will keep my garden in humid and make the highland species grow in more favorable conditions. Furthermore, it will lighten my mother's burden to show my plants everday since all my plants are kept in my hometown.
How's the price?
Thanks a lot for your precious information.

I really don't have a spare part from a washing machine and I am not likely to be getting one either. I'll have to go out and have look for some before next year, but with Christmas it is hard to find time to do that, so that is why I am asking.

Here is the website:

Hope you can find what you need.

You might want to check with KL Tower. He bought a mister last year. Have not installed it yet. He'll be able to tell you where to get it but it will be in KL area.

I use a low-pressure system (normal water mains pressure, same as your hose) hooked up to PE (Poly Ethylene) [black plastic] pipe and low-pressure mist nozzles. They are quite a bit cheaper to set up and work just fine for me. I don't have any pictures handy, but if you need them just tell me and I'll shoot some. They sell single mist nozzles and also a 4-way mist nozzle unit. Go with the larger size pipe if unsure because as you add nozzles you need a higher flow rate. A great plus is that when I turn it on the temperature in the surrounding area seems to drop about 2-4 degrees almost immediately.

I'll have to convert prices but 30mm PE pipe cost me about 18 Baht (US$0.58)/meter in 100 meter rolls. The nozzles are about 50 Baht (US$ 1.87) each and the 4-way is about 4 times the price. The micro tubing (6-8mm) is cheap. And the little connectors are also only pennies.
