Default The Secret Origins of N Miranda!!!

Hi everyone

I've been well searching high and low for the true origins and what N miranda may actually be.Nowadays most people say or claim that N miranda is N mixta x maxima which is N (maximax northiana) x N maxima.I've always thought it was that which is probally not after looking at some intresting threads. Some people has actually crossed a N mixta with a maxima themselves...But as many know N maxima has a lot of variations. So this is the thread

http://www.lhnn.proboards107.com/index.c....lay&thread=1259

In this thread at the bottom a guy suggested that a N miranda could have some veitchii parentage in it.As you can see the N mixta x maxima there looks NOTHING like a N miranda.Which looks like this.

http://www.lhnn.proboards107.com/index.c....int&thread=2070

So N miranda has a slightly more flared peristrome than a N mixta so does that show even a little hope that N miranda might have a little veitchii parantage in it??So will we ever know the TRUE ORIGINS OF N miranda????

The following quote is from the website below. If you go to the link and scroll down there are links to posts and also plenty of photo's.

'When N. "Miranda" was first introduced, it was sold as N. maxima "Miranda". The actual parents are unknown, but Vic Brown writes “thought by most growers to be N. x [x mixta*maxima]; ... other growers think this plant is a pure N. x mixta, possibly var. superba”'
