Talking The most complex hybrid of CP.......

Nepenthes fusca x maxima x rajah. Sarracenia excellens x readii x leucophylla x rubra var sweet. Heliamphora nutans x ionasii.

Which is the most complex CP hybrid in the world???

Any ideas?

Cheers

Off hand I would say Sarracenia, these readily hybridize in the wild with endless back cross. In cultivation they show the same trait.
While I am no expert on Nepenthes, they seem to show less vigour after the primary cross.

Hmm......I wonder, why it is impossible to cross sarrcenia and nepenthes together.

The existing hybrid..i would say it's :
(thorelli x maxima) x [(northiana x maxima) x (rafflesiana x veitchii)] x ventricosa 'red'.

I love this hybrid though!

Some populations of Nepenthes, Sarracenias and even Heliamphora are complex hybrid swarms of 2 or more species that have been hybridizing together for thousands of years, and are so complex that finding a true species in these populations is nearly impossible; artificial hybrids are another matter. - Rich
