Hai guys,

My truncata is not doing well
The new leaf is 70% smaller than the previous one. There are contraction between the lid and the pitcher..what i mean is the lid opens so fast when the pitcher is about 3 inches big.All the pitchers start drying up.
I need help ..please anyone save this little guy!
I'll post picture soon.
Thanx!

Aliamyz, my truncata, Alata x truncata and Sibu x truncata happen to behave like that too.

my sibu x truncata previous pitcher-ed large pitcher, but today I look at the latest one, it is half of the size and it opens its lid already.
Is it the weather?? Most of my pitchers dry up faster than ever before.

Like alata x truncata open new pitcher last month, normally its pitcher can last for two - three months, but now it dry up less than a month...

My truncata also behave the same. Worst is, the pitcher is getting smaller and smaller but bigger leaves. I see today my new pitcher has smaller lid than its pitcher. The pitcher over-size its lib.

I will take some shot of it.
What is going on??? How come truncata only???

How long do you had that truncata ali?If you got it recently then the plant maybe adjusting to your conditions.

If you had them for long time then there something wrong.Truncata are very robust plant.Check the leaves and the root.See if there is any pests or what.Too much watering can cause root rot and too little sunshine also bad.

I found N. truncata needs very porous media to thrive, mine grew in perlite and sphagnum moss, placed under the tree receiving dappled sunlight. The pitchers are huge. I watered twice every day as this media mix can get dry quite fast.
Ali: if you obtained your plant not too long ago, then it could be acclimatising to your condition as what Alienfx said.
Jeff: I think your truncata need more water and sunlight, but make sure the water drains out every time you water. Water logged could cause root rot.

TS
my truncata pot is always drained.

Sunlight?
yes I did. Morning sun til noon.
Facing East only. Bright shade for the rest of the days

YOu know what, I noticed my Truncata leaves turn yellowish along the edges of the leaves especially those leaves which will face noon sunlight. They look yellowish than those under shade by noon.

The leaves are so small..i'll try to post a pic later.

Ali, what is the conds of the new leaves? The best solution is take the plant out, check the roots, give another fresh well drain media.

Hi Jeff, try not to expose it to 100% sunlight, truncata doesn't like it. That could be the cause of the yellowish leaves and small pitcher.
