Default Nepenthes truncata 'Black'

Dear forumers,

I would like to share something with you guys and gals.
The black truncata is however exticnt in the wild and there's only 7 matured cultivated plants known so far.
Immature plants producing pitchers up to 4 feet.Imagine the matured plants!

The good news is,BE will be selling the black truncata in late 2009.
How encouraging!

Since its new it will be bloody expensive.Take N.Jamban for example. Its expensive because its new.So better wait few more years for the price to go now.I have seen it in person in BE booth at recent SGF.Its really huge and beautiful.

Right... it's probably going to cost a bomb if it's really rare... Look at how much BE charge for a N. hamata, XS for USD$120... ouch... and it's not even extinct yet...

Even getting broke already from getting all the "regular" species, not to mention some hard to get ones...

Thanks for sharing the info Ali.

We'll check with BE first on the price and see who wants it and can afford to buy it. I might be crazy enough to get one even if it is USD$120 and I am sure a few here might be as crazy as me... Hope for bonus and increment next year.

Sure we can ask Cindy. But we might have problem having someone going down to Singapore to get the plants. Cindy does not mail plants out and she cannot provide CITES cert.

Hi everyone

Well this species is definitly going to be very expensive i've never seen it real life but i've seen it in pictures in another forum some exhibition in singapore truly beautiful looks so primitif.I have always thought since then that people who created N truncata x veitchii were trying to replicate this species which i think failed hjehehehe.

I ve seen it at the SGF. Its huge like a Rajah but I dont think the pitcher will reach 4 feet lah. Maybe the plant will.

Let start the ball rolling. I bid $50 ringgit for the smallish plant of this one. Any higher bids??? kekekeke
