rooted cuttings pics
I have a 20 gallon tank with a 26 watt compact floro daylight bulb and a fan for rooting cuttings.
I use a 65-45% pearlite and LFS mix with nep stems cut and dipped in rootone. I found 100% pearlite to produce leaves quick but took a long time to make roots. 100% LFS made great roots but took forever to make leaves. Also 100% LFS is hard to remove from the root system of the cutting, the pearlite helps to make it easier to pull out of the rooting mix. So I made a mix of the 2 this last try and it worked great I was surprised that the 26 watt light was enough for the neps. I know it looks ghetto but it's in my room and no one sees it but me. It's wrapped in a emergency thermal blanket from wallyworld. pics tank peace, Zero |

Re: rooted cuttings pics
Nice to see cuttings root. They do take their time to root. What i normally do is leave the bottom part of the cutting in water and they root also.Dont know which method roots faster yet.Tried full moss also and water only seems to root faster for me.
Some of ur cuttings are quite long. For me longer cutting take more time to root.I prefer 1 cutting every 2 leaves and if got a healthy pitcher i will leave it and touch and fill it with water so that the cutting can use it.Will refill the water once the water lessens. |
