Did you make your charcoal bits smaller?

Yes kevyn, truncata is really very slow when recovering from repotting or root shock. Mine took one and a half months to settle down compared to others which only took 2-3 weeks.

the truncata that has got its growing tip/ point severed... i strongly disagree that it has anything to do with repotting or root shock...others (sp and hybrid) do fairly well after repotting or shock while on their way to my place via post...

do not have many pots of truncatas to do comparison though.....

So far, if a nep's growing tip blacken or sever, it's due to root rot. It doesn't happen due during posting or repotting. The only way it happens is if you rip out all the roots (which I don't think anyone would be willing to do! ) or if the media you use holds too much water. My veitchii was a good example. Too much peat and overwatering caused the growing tip to blacken. A second one appeared which made two normal leaves (no pitchers) and then it slowly recovered. Phew....

young man, i mentioned the tip was severed by a fallen mango (fruit) so nothing to do with overwatering or handling issue....period.
