Seeing ur mini rainforest, i just imagine how wonderful it is relaxing on a lazy chair, sipping a cup of coffee under the blanket when it rains heavily.. having plants around u just nurtures the relaxing feeling and makes ur mind wide open, forgetting the hectic schedule of work in our daily life..

« Reply #4 on 24 Aug, 2007, 23:19 »hehehe... Thanks artificialive...

FYI... No more lazy chair... gave them away to make room for more plants... only me lazy when it rains... Drinking coffee half-sleeping, half sitting... I never close the sliding door leading to my balcony except when there's a storm, like now... I sleep with the balcony door open... Cant afford to sleep in my room as it is dark dark even during the day... affraid I might not wake up in time for work...

i`m thinking of re-doing my neps collection by hanging the pots on clothes rails and using black netting...currently not getting the required amount of sunlite i.e. whole day filtered....mmmm...but my garden will then look like a nursery ! heheh....

My apartment does not have a balcony, so all my neps have to be indoors beside the window. Not so good lor. Always problem with insufficient sunlight when it rains or the sun is blocked by haze caused by our neighbouring country.

Cool, you can even have flowering plants. That means your balcony is getting enough sun.

Psst, psst... Grandpa Tarence... your granchildren really look like you.

it`s a cycle of sorts rite for CPs ? one of us gets an unusual CP...we either trade, sell or give it away...then it spreads & everyone who wants one, has one.

then we look for more rare types.....just lovely. if only budget wasn`t a problem.....

« Reply #9 on 30 Aug, 2007, 16:39 »Update:

N. benstoneii seeds from Lim sprouted. I counted 4 tiny plantlets with 2 leaves.

The planlet grow root first then only the leaves came out from the thread like seed. Anybody noticed this before?

How long/tall should I let them grow before repotting them up? Any advice?

And today 30 august I got 4 mini taugehs in one of the 2 containers. Checked already. It's the nep seeds sprouting. No use typing long-long already... here's a pix

« Reply #15 on 4 Sept, 2007, 0:59 »stefan.... my big neps are growing from neglect.... i just water them once every 3 days, I always water them at night... Last time I used to water them daily, they got so used to it, that if i forget to water them and skip a day, they'll look bad... now they're trained to last long between watering.... My potting mix is 1 part fine coco husk+1 part river sand + 1 part charcoal Link to Post - Back to Top Loggedstefan

So I would probably have to locate a decent river, oh and so coco husks, oh and probably some charcoal Link to Post - Back to Top Loggedlisham

Thanks Man... But frankly speaking... I'd prefer a landed house than an apartment... limited sunlight, cannot water too often.... sweeping the debris from the floor.... aiya...
