Default How well CP different species Ship?

Not sure if this topic has been discussed before or not, but would like to ask:

What are your experiences on how long can different CPs actually survive in a dark box when shipped?

And any tips on how to make them last a bit longer in this environment?

Example:

Aldro sent by post and took 14 days, was mulch when it arrived.

Very young Nepenthes plants from nurseries can go around 8 days and still survive, though at 8 to 10 days some might die.

I found out the hard way that one should never ship nepenthes too wet, or else they will suffer from fungust or blackening early.

I have only transported Droseras for around 1 to 2 days in the dark, they do okay, but never longer than that.

So, who has experienced sending Nepenthes, Droseras, Sarracenias, etc. the longest to reach it's destination?

Arvin:I heard the pos service in ur country is quite slow hence its no good to send any life things by postal.

Here in Malaysia, using Poslaju the plants etc can reach anywhere in Malaysia in 2 days or less.I always send my plants with some water or some moist because it will help to avoid dehydration and avoid temperature to increase high.Temperature in those sealed parcels can reach very high.

Funges and mold is not a problem if the parcel can arrive in few days.

Best is to use parcel services which can gurantee to arrive in few days.If not then better dont take chances to send out the plants.

Thanks Casey for the info, Alien, yes I agree that our post is somewhat unreliable but they do arrive in around 1 or 2 weeks time depending on the cost you are willing to pay. One can still do EMS and it can be quite fast, but you will have to pay a premium. Also I think another thing is to maybe send through EMS at the main office, because I was surprised that once the postoffice in my area said that it is 7 days at their office and 7 days transit! What?!

Anyway that is actually totally not the point about my above question, because I just want to know which species can actually be safely shipped with confidence and how long different CP species can survive in a closed/no light environment, so that one can adjust the shipping style accordingly.

Example if droseras for example can only take 5 days, then no other choice but to do Fastest EMS or just send seeds. If Nepenthes can stay for 10 to 15 days, then regular EMS is possible. etc. etc. Oh and we probably should also state the size of the plants, coz for nepenthes we of course know that big plants can get over the shock better than very small plants. But big plants are impractical to ship.
