One pic is a community pot I made.... Here are 2 more pics S.minor hybrid ( it just recovered from semi-dormancy, used to be twice the size ) S.flava ( a friend bought this for me from his morning market, can be found in Sg buloh too ) here is the whitish trumpets i got. i know it ain`t s.leucophylla but it`s the closest i`ve seen in m`sia gift from Lau, a clean semi-green form of compact s.purpurea. the one i actually wanted is pure green, this one has similiar shape but has red markings. notice the `hood` or collar is sharp & pointy. « Last Edit: Sept 6, 2007, 5:42pm by tarence »Link to Post - Back to Top Logged artificialive Pioneer Member / Global Moderator member is offline Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male Posts: 713 Location: Ayer Keroh, Malacca Re: Some sarracenias I have..... « Reply #1 on May 2, 2007, 2:53pm » Wow Terence.. u sure got a lot of CP collection, and rare CPs too! I`ve killed a few along the way but all in all, I`ve propagated more than I`ve killed off in the past. So I`m at p-e-a-c-e.......*smile* S`pore got wide open spaces under the sun for you to grow CPs well ? how do you do it Jeff ? to me, CPs MUST be in the open natural outdoors, otherwise it won`t do as well. This is my experience with Nepenthes too. I have them grown under artificial lights, by the window, under shade cloth and at the porch. Those that are most robusts are those grown outdoors where they receive sun for most of the day. « Last Edit: May 3, 2007, 10:18pm by David »Link to Post - Back to Top LoggedMy Wantlist mukaketupat New Member member is offline Joined: May 2007 Posts: 26 Location: petaling jaya, malaysia Re: Some sarracenias I have..... « Reply #16 on May 9, 2007, 5:24pm » hi everyone, im new here and very much into plants and my latest obsession - CPs of course. david donated some of his baby CPs last night. hopefully i wont kill them. :| tarence, kool photos and honestly, i dont think ive ever seen sarracenias like yours. theyre superbly amazing. Minor is more hooded with white dots on the back of the "head". But that is a flava~ I want one~ I went to sg buloh today they only had purpurea... lots of them... At its peak, it has `windows` at the back of its hood. It`s only about 7 inches tall now, capable of reaching well over a foot when it recovers fully. btw, my friends & i have been growing CPs for a couple of years now...we don`t have to rely on photos or textbook knowledge anymore now after all the research we`ve done & the countless plants we`ve seen. Have you seen a `live` one before ? coz you asked me whether it can be grown here..... Haha, we`ve been growing it for years. Cheers Zak. « Last Edit: May 11, 2007, 2:17pm by tarence »Link to Post - Back to Top Logged<font class="titletext" color="#009900" size="1">Page 1 of 3 » Jump to page |
