L/L Nepenthes in southern Thailand
Hi,
Got a chance to go check out some wild nep sites some where in southern Thailand. It's great to be able to see nepenthes species like N. kongkandana, N. ampullaria, N. gracilis, N. mirabilis and the hybrids in situ where they grew naturally. Here are some of the pics that I would like to share with you all... enjoy. Site 1 : N. kongkandana N. kongkandana-01  N. kongkandana-01 Close up shot of the stem  N. kongkandana-01 Pitcher  N. kongkandana-02  N. kongkandana-02 Pitcher  N. kongkandana-03  N. kongkandana-04  N. kongkandana-05  N. kongkandana-06  N. kongkandana-07  N. kongkandana-08  N. kongkandana-09  N. kongkandana-10  N. kongkandana-11  N. kongkandana-12  N. kongkandana-13  N. kongkandana- various form of pitchers from one locality  N. kongkandana-habitat 1  N. kongkandana-habitat 2  N. kongkandana-disturbed soil  Guess what I found growing side by side with the neps?? Great trip photos! This is the first I've seen of the Thorellii growing in the sand like that. Amazing...and it looks so dry! I also hadn't suspected the smallish leafed stem, almost like a gracils. Seems like most have the reddish underside of the lid...is that what you found? Were the sites spread out far apart or all close together? Thanks again,

Thanks guys for the comments.
Shawn, I only managed to scout a small area but been told there's even more if travel deeper into the bush. The sad thing is that the surrounding area is slowly but surely being converted to farm land for agriculture.

Site 2 : N. ampullaria, N. mirabilis, N. gracilis & N. x kuchingensis
This site is another locality with different environment The entrance : neps were found inside the forest  Exposed soil  amp-01  amp-02  Dried up amp, the stem being chopped off as people clear a path into the forest   Flowers  amp-03  amp-04 Have to clear away the leaves to take pic coz it was buried  amp-05  amp-06  amp-07  amp-07 Pitchers 1  amp-07 Pitchers 2  amp-08 Only managed to find one with spotted pitcher  amp-09  mirabilis-01  mirabilis-01 Pitcher  mirabilis-02  kuching-01 When you have both N. mirabilis & N. ampullaria living side by side, this will be the end result  gracilis-01 Basals  gracilis-02  Site 3 : N. mirabilis & N gracilis to be continued...
