Cold stratification... is it really necessary?

I bought VFT seeds almost a month ago. Since I got a plenty of them so I can do some experiment on the seeds (based on what I've read in this forum and some where else).

18 of them I sowed on moisturised dried SM peat and put them in the refrigerator. And another 6 of them, I soaked in rainwater in a small transparent container.

After two weeks I can see a white thing came out from 1 of the seeds that I soaked in the rain water. I took the seed and put it on LSM. On the third week, I can see some part of the seedling coming out from the seed.

So my questions is, should I wait from 8-12 weeks for cold stratification since the one without cold stratification took less time to germinate?

Hi Zul,
VFT don't need any cold stratification at all, just sow them straight away. The longer you keep, the lesser they germinated.
I have tried many times before with good germination rate without stratification.
