Terms and Conditions

All participants and competition entries are subject to the Terms and Conditions of the competition including additional instructions from the judges or Administrator at the time of the competition. The Administrator reserves the right to disqualify or remove any entry or winner in the competition if these conditions are not followed. The Administrator further reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions of the competition without prior notice.

Below are the terms and conditions for participating in the competition:


REGISTRATION


01. This competition is open to all members of PetPitcher including sponsors, suppliers and nursery owners.

02. There is no registration fee for entry into the competition. Registration for the competition is FREE.


ENTRY SUBMISSION


03. Each member is allowed to submit only one entry/plant for each category and each entry/plant must have 3 pictures taken from 3 different angles: (1) picture of the entire plant including the pot, (2) picture of the stems, leaves and traps and (3) picture based on the creativity of the owner.


04. All picture entries are required to follow the following specifications: Resolution = 100 KB. Picture Dimension = 600 pixel on the longest side. You may use photoshop / ACDSee / Paint.Net (Free image/photo editing software by Microsoft @ http://www.getpaint.net/). The original high resolution / full size copy of the pictures may be requested by the Administrator before results are announce and/or prices given out.


05. Pictures must be taken within 3 months of the entry submission date. Therefore pictures must be accompanied with the digital camera date imprinted on it. If your digital camera does not have the date function, submit a 4th picture of the plant together with a current newspaper, clearly showing the date on the newspaper.


06. Images are not to be digitally manipulated using computer software except for resizing the picture resolution and dimension as required in Terms and Conditions No. 04. Images must not have any text, icons or designs on them except for the date (generated by the digital camera) when the picture was taken.


07. The plants must be kept for at least 6 months before the picture is taken and submitted for the competition. You are not allowed to submit newly acquired plants.


08. You may not submit pictures of wild collected plants or plants growing in the wild. It is our aim not to encourage poaching. This competition is for cultivated plants and not pictures of plants growing in the wild.


09. You must have the rights to the pictures or own the plant in the pictures to enter for the competition. PetPitcher will not bear any legal consequences should the entry be found to be plagiarized and legal action is initiated by the respective owner.


10. All entries must be submitted to the Administrator at david@petpitcher.net and not on the forum. Each entry must be accompanied with the genus and species name. Species must have their full names correctly spell out. However, hybrid full names may be exempted and allowed to participate in the competition if the hybrid is considered difficult to identify. Your email must also include your full name and forum ID name.


11. The Administrator of PetPitcher shall have the right to record, archive and use all pictures entered in the competition as a primary source of illustration for PetPitcher website, events, advertisements, media, banner, buntings, fliers and etc. The original high resolution / full size copy of the pictures may be requested by the Administrator before results are announce and/or prices given out.



THE COMPETITION


12. There must be at least 3 entries for a category in order for the competition to run. If this condition is not met, that category will be canceled.


13. Members may only vote in the poll for the wining plant if they have at least 5 posts on the forum. Members votes will be forfeited if they do not have at least 5 posts on the forum.


14. Members are allowed to comment on the entries in each competition category. However, members are NOT ALLOWED to comment on judges votes that are uploaded together with the entries. The judges votes are final.


PRIZES


15. If the winner of the competition resides in a different country from where the sponsor is based and if the prize is a plant, the sponsor may not be able to mail the plant to the winner depending on the laws in a country or the cost of postage, pytosanitary certificates and CITES certificates may be too high for the sponsor to bear. In an event such as this, a substitute prize (non plant prize) will be given to the winner instead. The substitute prize shall be decided by the Administrator and/or Sponsor. The decision is final.
