I bought the worm from aquarium shop this afternoon. I asked the seller that I want buy bread worm..she show me this one..So am I bought the right worm?? Can feed my drosera??
If can, I also can use this worm to feed other cps such as VFT or others???

Edmund i thought bread worm contain quite high calcium which will make the plants not so well. As i saw on the article at U tube about how to feed your CPs. Harlem, you can try using some fruit to lure those insect to land at your CPs. But i think CPs contain some stuff that those flies will fly around that area. my Drosera i never feed them as i put it outdoor they can trap insect themselve. i try to take a photo tomorrow for you to have a view. Hope it help you . And please correct me if i'm wrong. thanks you ...

Hi harlem,

it ok with the blur picture but it still can see plant. At first, you bought the correct worm as i feed. As edwin told the word contain high nutrient especially protein . So do remember do not feed your plant often. Too much nutrient will kill your plant as well.


I think the plant you bought is not D.Burmanii . Can be other ID . Any Taiko =Master opinion? The second will be drosera nidiformis. How Long the plant with you?


Note : The second method that edwin mention can be useful as well. Cut your fruit into small pieces then the smell of fruit will lure the insect. Good luck!

I want hand feeling my drosera because I never see them trap the insects themselves although I put outside. I also no know what happen …Maybe will try using some fruit to lure the insects….Will try it when back…

Oic…Although that worm look small but it also so big to my drosera..so I cut it in many parts…violence ya ..hehe!! I just feed a very small pieces for my drosera in this morning…so when I need feed them again?? After they digest the worm??

I get this plants at 23 August…not very long for me….

since you just got your plant. So let them adapt to your environment first ... slowly and slowly give them more sunlight ... You will see dew on their leaf.

Today try to observe your plant leaf will roll up the worm or not. If yes, mean your plant is ready absorb the nutrient. If the leaf like not action, please remove the worm from the leaf as it will melt the leaf and harm to the mother plant.

Here some of my D. Filiformis. I used to take the insect caught by D. Filiformis then will feed other CPs.

Your D.Filiform is quite big and grow very nicely…envy u…hehe!!
This is a really good idea to catch more insects for feed other cps.
Unfortunately my home town just get a few seller sell cps, if got, also is normal nepenthes only..hope I can find D. Filiformis and get more insects for other cps…
