Re: Nepenthes Seeds GIVEAWAY!
I was told with good authority (Robert) that covers not needed as our humidity is high. I'll add this maybe cover is good to prevent splashes from rain.

Re: Nepenthes Seeds GIVEAWAY!
Hehe, friend, sometimes can take up to many moons before germination. So long as they are not killed by fungus or rotted or eaten by creepy crawlies, keep at it.

Re: Nepenthes Seeds GIVEAWAY!
Hi
Well definitly agree that seeds can take up to months by hearing other peoples experience.Just keep it like how you grow your other Neps maybe 1-2 hours of direct morning sunlight a day.And keep it ANIT-FUNGUS Bactrus Why do you cover it up to protect it from rain????? Ken |

Re: Nepenthes Seeds GIVEAWAY!
Simple, just keep it indoors or sheltered from rain. I found my first germination was fungused because I covered in the the food container. After Robert's advise, I took them away from the exposed part of my balcony to the more inside rain shaded area.

Re: Sowing Nepenthes seeds
To cover or not depends on the humidity at your growing area. Mine can drop to 35%RH on a hot and windy day so I put the seeds in covered boxes. If your area is constantly 50%RH and above, leaving the container open will reduce the chances of fungus.

Re: Sowing Nepenthes seeds
Well,i tried some experiment myself.Covered and uncovered transparent container. The covered (with 2 holes) have far better success in germinating the nep seeds.I should have taken some pics. The one without cover only few germanated. Both also almost the same time germanated. What i noticed the one without;the moss surface keep drying although in balcony.
The bad thing about covered container is fungus. |

Re: Sowing Nepenthes seeds
Hi! Thanks everybody…
That means cover and uncover get their advantages and disadvantages… Before that, I put the transparent container with seeds and cover tightly at the outside, bright place… but it become boil water when hot day..so that’s why I put my other covered container at the indoor. But dun have any germination yet… |
