I think there should still be some wild population on D. burmannii to be found in Eastern and North Eastern part of Peninsular Malaysia. The one I found in southern Thailand (actually not far from Malaysian border with Thailand) is on the West side of Peninsular Malaysia/Thailand.

I think might just like annual killifish. Survive drought by producing drought resistant seeds.
