Hahah... TS. I wont reveal now. Lets other guess it.
Sarracenia? Cobra?

Those small little plants grow beside, is Moss. normally they will grow along the drains, roads & stones. I dont know why they grow on my sphagnum moss. But they are super cute to have.

Hmm, I have only grown neps and sundews from seeds. Have not seen other cps' plantlets. My guess is it is the plantlets of the hooded pitcher plant (Sarracenia minor) or Cobra Lily (Darlingtonia californica).

By the way, I like the moss growing on your sphagnum moss too.

Okay I shall reveal it. It is Darlingtonia.
I grow them in my office in a lighted fish tank.
Imagine a fish tank and a pot of green stuff barely see a thing.
About cooling its root, i was thinking of putting a air pump to pump air, it somehow create water circuation. (oh wrong spelling)

Hey Jeff, ha, ha, it's Cobra, but still can't see the 'moustache' yet. From TP? Keep us update.
Can you elaborate more on how you cool the roots by using the air pump? What is water circulation going to do with cooling the roots? But what I know if the air is warm, it's going to be worse, the water may even get warmer by pumping the air thru? Correct me if I'm wrong.

hey TS
I am still testing on a method to grow them.
I read they need to have their root cool by water circulation. Still water (warm) will kill them.
Thinking about it, why? Why still water warm?? And circulation water will be cool??

Until one member in GCS said, maybe is the oxygen in the water. Cardon dioxide will warm up the water. So I bought an air pump still yet installed. To pump air (oxygen) and it may cause the water to circulate somehow.

testing...

So Jeff, since Choong and I got it right will we get a prize for it... maybe a baby cobra plantlet???... Haa, haa, haa, just kidding.

I think the air in the tank would be hotter than the air outside the tank because of the lighting. So when you pump air into the tank you are actually exchanging the hot air with cool air. At least this is what I noticed about my terrariums.

oh i see. I have yet tried. Maybe you are right. Then... i have to buy those pump water type then.... lucky the air pump is cheap. I may able to use it together. Hehe

Prize? I hope to send you two plantlets but as you know it will shock and dead when unroot. Maybe when it dormant.

David, is me TS who got the answer right not Choong, hee, hee. Don't send the prize to the wrong person!! No offence Choong, just kidding.

Jeff, you mean you use the tray method and pump air into the water in the tray? That also means water level must be quite high too, at least an inch I guess. Maybe that help abit but from what I read from website there must be a regular flow of cool water to cool down the roots, meaning by keeping the roots system cool, the plant should be OK. From 'Savage Garden', put some ice on top of the potting media during very hot days may save the plant. Maybe we should also try this. If this plant is from Oregon than it should be easier to grow.

yah, TS I have an inch water high with a ugly square pot with alot of holes (in fact not a pot afterall). hahah....
I have those highlander cobra sprouted and lowlander (Oregon) waiting to germinate (hopefully, cos now no response from them....) I plant them together.

the air pump is to move the water a bit instead of water still.

Worst is i have it 24 hr light on! hahah... I grow them in my small office in school. Hopefully they grow well.

Yaa, the moss is nice. My plants in my terrariums always grow those slimy green stuff. So irritating. Have to change the top soil every once in a while.

Well done

By the way, there seems to be a lot of moss with those Darlingtonia-this is dangerous because the Darlingtonia are so young. I would therefore advise you to take a pair of tweezers and very carefully pull some of the moss out by the plants.
