audrey: yeah it's doing well in my garden despite other types of phals this one managed it good. It went through a lot of abuse in hot sun, heavy rain and now it's found a proper place among my Neps. And it's forgiven me by putting out a new leaf this week

Is your galanga what they called "sar geong" in cantonese? Use for cooking. Can't remember the malay word for it.

I may have it back in my hometown too. I'm a sucker for gingers.

Wait till I show you my Costus Barbatus. Just flowered 2 weeks ago, I'm so happy that I asked my wife everyone to see it. Now it's dangling pretty in my balcony. If only I have time to take picture of it. Everyday go back already dark. This weekend will try.

Rgds,
Isaac
