Default Flower Development

I am thinking to document VFT flowering process here. Not only for my own reference, but to share to anyone interested. I know some literatures are advicing owners to remove flower stalks in encouraging growth. As long as the plant is healthy enough, I believe it is alright to go ahead letting it flowers.

Week 0:
Flower stalk is recognized 3 weeks after the plant awakes from dormancy.

Feel free to comment if anything I should watch out for.
Will update as it progress...

I've let mine flower before, Marvin. Most people let their VFT flower, except for some. A lot of the VFT in Cameron Highland are flowering whenever I see them.

Sure there must be many having their plants flowering before. Probably not many document the details.

These will be self pollinated typical plant seeds. Chance for exeptional quality offsprings is low. Anyway, will let you know if there are extras.

There are 2 VFTs that are flowering at the same time? if I may suggest, please try to let the two flowers "kiss" each other from time to time, or heck every day, so that they are cross pollinated. I just hope they do flower at the same time so that you can do this. I forgot if VFTs are self fertile/self pollinating, but it won't hurt if you can have a different plant pollinate it.

If you do decide to cut the flower before it ripens, you can try to make plantlets out of the flowerstalk, just treat them like a leaf cutting.

Good luck!
