Mirandas also take alot of water, perhaps because they are so huge. But this is a very tough nep and is able to tolerate a variety of conditions. Make sure the media and under the leaves are also sprayed with insecticide. Separate the plant from the rest of your plants or else the pest is going to spread to the rest of your plants. By the way, does the new developing leaves looks deformed? If it does you can be sure it is pest attack. Don't worry, with insecticide the pest will be gone. If you do not use a sytemic insecticide, you'll have to spray once every few days for a week or so to kill off any new pest that have just hatch from eggs in the media. Systematic Insecticide is good as it stays in the plant and media. So whatever eggs that are left when hatch will be killed and they will not have the opportunity to lay more eggs. « Last Edit: Feb 14, 2007, 1:38pm by David »Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Jan 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 381 Location: Batu Pahat, Johor ![]() « Reply #5 on Feb 20, 2007, 5:48pm » ![]() ![]() ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Administrator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is online ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 2,326 Location: Kuala Lumpur ![]() « Reply #6 on Feb 23, 2007, 8:55am » ![]() ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Jan 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 381 Location: Batu Pahat, Johor ![]() « Reply #7 on Feb 25, 2007, 4:30pm » ![]() ![]() the leaf become yellow ![]() ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Administrator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is online ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 2,326 Location: Kuala Lumpur ![]() « Reply #8 on Feb 26, 2007, 8:57am » ![]() ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Jan 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 381 Location: Batu Pahat, Johor ![]() « Reply #9 on Feb 27, 2007, 3:04pm » ![]() ![]() water it at morning every day. no. However, the underside of the leaf looks like it was damaged by insects as the leaf was developing. Could be thrips, but difficult to say. Is the plant still suffering from this? Although a few Nepenthes species can tolerate full tropical sunlight the entire day, usually this is not the case. With a parentage of N. maxima and N. northiana, I would guess that your N. 'Miranda' would probably prefer a situation with more diffuse light. Try putting the plant under 70% shade cloth. Your earlier photos are a bit more difficult to diagnose. Best regards, Ch'ien Very sorry for my late reply. ![]() My N.Miranda had already recover, and very healthy now. ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Jan 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 381 Location: Batu Pahat, Johor ![]() « Reply #17 on Apr 29, 2007, 1:54pm » ![]() ![]() ![]() My Miranda pitchering ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Senior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() I'm back! ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Feb 2007 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 473 Location: Subang Jaya, SS19 ![]() « Reply #18 on Apr 29, 2007, 8:15pm » ![]() ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() Pioneer Member / Global Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() member is offline ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male ![]() Posts: 713 Location: Ayer Keroh, Malacca ![]() « Reply #19 on Apr 30, 2007, 9:06pm » ![]() ![]() ![]() The conditions are all right, thats y it is pitchering ![]() Link to Post - Back to Top ![]() |
