Use transparent A4 paper to protect CP from rain
Drosera will doing better if we protected them from rain. But, it is costly, and troublesome to build a wood or metal cover for them. It will be “NO” for stingy person, especially me (always calculate here and there).
With suitable size of square container (im using transparent disposable plastic food containers) and transparent A4 paper, we can build 1 easily. Make a hole at side of container for water overflow purpose. Distance of the overflow hole from bottom of container is 2cm. Fill in the container with wet spagnum moss. Then, plant yours CP in the spagnum moss. Cut the tranparent A4 paper to shape as shown Slip the two shorter sides of the cut tranparent A4 paper into the planted container. Final product. http://carnivorousplants.wordpress.c...-cp-from-rain/

Re: Use transparent A4 paper to protect CP from rain
No problem, we can use it for nepethes or any CP or plants. I place it at the top level of my CP rack (4 level rack), it is no problem under heavy rain/wind. And the sheet still looking good, even the disposable container started to become "crispy".

Re: Use transparent A4 paper to protect CP from rain
If afraid of wind, maybe sticky tape should help (scotch tape). Or heck staple it in place I use plastic cups on my pot and they do get blow away in strong winds
Casey, you mean that the material does not crumble easily from UV light? This is basically "Acetate" right? The one used for printing out to show on overhead projector? Cool idea. Allows for air flow at the side to boot. Will work for Nepenthes seedlings as well I am sure. TTFN Arvin

Re: Use transparent A4 paper to protect CP from rain
That was exactly what I'm doing for my sundews and some VFTs. But mine bigger scale . I placed the plastic sheet over the big yellow container you are using now to place all your sundews. A big sheet to cover all. Buy the plastic sheet must be thick enough so it'll stand firm especially during heavy down pour.
