Default mt kinabalu

my wife and i went to sabah mid october last year. of course, mt kinabalu is one place we wont want to miss. so, we went mountain climbing, ascend by mersilau and descend by timpohon. i would say that for plant enthusiasts, mersilau route is definitely better. lots of scenic points.

as we stayed in mersilau for 2 nights, we managed to visit the famous place where lots of rajah and burbridgea grow. they are everywhere and it is really strange, as all of them grow at an open area with lalang everywhere whereas before the river crossing, there were no pitcher plants at all, zilch. the secret apparently lies in the ultramafic soil. so, any die hard grower collect ultramafic soil for their plants? after the climb, the last thing i would want to do is to lug soil back!!

so, all you nep lovers, you guys must pay a visit to the sacred holy ground of neps, your seceond hometown!!!

another pose from the top model of the year....

the whole plant and it is huge...
