FAN + WATER=COOLING?
I heard somewhere in forums that if you spray your neps and give them wind/fan it would help to reduce the temps....Well i feel thats possible since at night nowadays its quite chilly when the wind blows after a rain or during....So has anyone try it??
Other than that, is there such thing as a battery operated fan which is strong enough to blow some of the neps??? They aren't quite big though..At night sometimes the air is quite still soooo i thought of this.. If you have tried it or at least know stuff about it please share with me..

Re: FAN + WATER=COOLING?
We feel cool when wind blows over because we are warm blooded. As the warm air near skin is blown away, the skin turns cool. Relationship of ambient temperature and wind speed is known as wind chill.
For plants, they are at the same temperature as their surrounding. Theoretically, local temperature can lower when water evaporates, until 100% RH. However, since you plan to blow using a fan, the moving air quickly evens out the temperature. Probably you can wet a thermometer and blow using a fan. See if temperature changes. I doubt the cooling will be significant. Just me view on the logics of it.. let us know how it works out..

Is using mist can cool down the environment?

Re: FAN + WATER=COOLING?
Evaporative cooling works best at low RH's (Relative Humidity) and is nearly useless in high RH areas. - Rich

Re: FAN + WATER=COOLING?
I have an atomizer, which is suspended to the top of my wall from a chain, and i turn it on for about 10 seconds, and it wets down everything . its kinda noisy, like a vacuum, if you go to my profile, to the right, you should see my photo album of all my plants, including what the atomizer looks like. best $200 i have ever spent.

Re: FAN + WATER=COOLING?
if you want an environment cool, use ice cubes on top of the medium. Especially for cobra lillies, if you give them ice cubes each day to keep there roots cold, they will reward you with vigorous growth. They actually need there roots cold to stay alive to though, but just use ice cubes!
