Just wanna share some pix of my sarras...

Tall green thingy

Now still tall but not so green thingy

With red veins and yellowish green color (it looks angry!)

Now it's like this

S. purpurea something (fresh from the store, beautifully displayed on a rack, inside the shop with no sunlight/artificial lights what so ever)

Now growing (repotted in spagmoss, getting 2-3 hours morning sunlight)

It's flowering (first time keeping sarracenia alive for more than 3 weeks, first sarracenia to flower... So Happy!)

S. psitacina from Tarence (lil shy young thing)

Now growing and not so shy

Close-up on the flaring, red veined tops

Now it's like this

New addition

S. x catesbaei

S. flava

S. x stevensii
Coming Soon... (As soon as it decides to put out photo-worthy pitchers)

S. x leucophylla
Coming Soon... (As soon as it decides to put out photo-worthy pitchers)

S. purpurea green
Coming Soon... (As soon as it decides to put out photo-worthy pitchers)

Huh... That's why I'm scratching my head... The green is not green... Got red veins all over... It's in full morning sun from 8-1pm...

The guards will be moved to another spot soon... Too crowded... My sifu (that'll be U.. Tarence) said to give them space and they'll grow big big...

Am planning to divide the leftest errr... extreme left pot... but... Notice the flower stalks? Got two now...

As for the psitacina... Sorry for the messy pot... Just repotted it last night... 3 pot changed so far... The plant is about 6 inches across... No splitting yet...

Lisham, my green sarra gets whole day sun...it`s really quite green unlike yours. i think your 3-hour sun exposure is not enuff.

the white sarra looks so funny among the rest coz of the colour. heheh.

your psittacina is still young. it won`t split just yet. But it looks healthy. Are the traps big enuff to be fed bloodworm juice ? Mebbe that`ll fatten them up a lil`. Mine started splitting after I fed them. Guess the nutrients overload did something to them biologically.

Huh? nutrient overload does something to them biologically? Sound just like the effect of excessive food to my body... Overload of food= rounder full belly...

i think you still lack the s.purpurea ssp venosa rite ? it`s same shape as the `green` one you have except the hood is wavy & more gorgeous.

Ok... Got any to spare ka? BTW, how bout the giraffe one?

Waaaa... Nice! Hehehe... I love the one in the second pix, 4 o'clock between 2 reddish pitchers... Nice curves...

Dont tempt me Ok... Got any to spare ka? BTW, how bout the giraffe one?

Anyway, anybody ever noticed that Sarracenia can read minds? I was thinking about splitting my S. x purpurea last time, it's flowered... So I postponed... Then the thought came to me again, it flowered again... Then again....

So I leave the s. x purpurea alone for a while... Then I planned to split the S. x tall red thing... It too flowered...

Mebbe they dont wanna be broken up to smaller clumps...

Hi Tarense & Lisham,
Is this a purpurea too? or a hybrid? It shapes like your "green" purpurea.

I think lisham's is S. purpurea ssp. venosa and bifurcatum's is S. purpurea ssp purpurea. No expert on sarrs tho.
