David, you got a very bright sunlit balcony there! Your tills are in very healthy condition without sunburn. I wish I can grow tills like that as it looks like just the right light exposure for them.
![]() I would like to guess the unIDed tills. 1 T. capitata x xerographica 4 T.bulbosa x butzii 9 T.araujei 14 T.balbisiana x (?) I have one of that too. It looks quite sturdy and sun resistant. Your xero looks unique, like a pineapple crown. ![]()

Thank you cendric for your kind comments.
funkychips, Thanks. I still feel they are not at optimum condition. They grow very slowly for me. Other growers like Jonathan have plants that grow much faster than mine and looks more robust. I think it's because it is grown indoors and sometimes I feel they lack sunlight. Actually I do not have a balcony. They are all hung/placed indoors at the window in my living hall and the window receives sunlight from about 3.40pm to 6.40pm. However, nowadays the weather have the tendency to rain at that time when the sunlight shines in. It's frustrating and I am thinking of placing a metal halide on the ceiling for them and my other plants there. Thanks for helping me ID them. Been wanting to know what they are for a while now. Haa, haa... the xerographica looks like a pineapple crown because when I first started to grow them about 1 year + back, I was very afraid I would over water them and they would rot on me. I was also worried about the lack of sunlight. So I starve them of water... just a little... Heh, heh... to be safe. So you can see the old leaves are curled up. But recently in the last few months the sun shift and is shining bright at them. So I fertilise them and water much more. So new leaves are longer and wider and does not curl.

By the way, would any other Till collector know what third last picture is (or picture 14)? I would like to know what it is. ZFunkychips said that it is a balbisiana hybrid. That's the problem with nurseries in Malaysia. They never tag their plants.

David,
the ID for your plants are: #1.....capitata Maya ot hybrid of capitata X xero. Only the infl will tell as both plants looks very similiar. #4......bulbosa. elongated leaves! #9......araujei. Wow! very green. #14....balbisiana. Very large! They all look very healthy. You can put your xero at sunnier place. Don't worry. The plants will adapt. |

Thanks Andy for confirming the names of the plants. I'll seriously think about placing a metal halide for them as I cannot control the sunlight that comes in the window. Then I can also start to grow my neps there too... haa, haaa...
