Default A little advice/help would be helpful..

Hi everyone....

Just asking have you ever had plants like for example my N.Rajah have they're tendrills become thinner compared to before it came under my care? Cause when my rajah was with Fauzi it has 1 developing pitcher and the tendrill was thicker than now...Also so far i have not been able to have my rajah to pitcher..They few newer leaves i'm putting a little hope in it that they will form a pitcher...Considering they are not black yet...or very dark brown...Also the newest not yet unfolded leaf has a pure white tendrill which is quite normal for most neps..Now the plant is about 4" in size...It use to be 3" when i bought it...Not a slow grower as most say...Just hard to pitcher..

Anyways edward does this happen to your rajah too? Also Aaron how come urs pitcher in lowland conditions while mine didn't even pitcher in highland conditions lol..

Another question....When you germinate seeds....And you have a few pots of them...And lets say you have 2 one of them the LFS turn green cos of algae...But they other remains yellowish..My observation is those on the alage pot seeds don't turn black while some of those in the other pot mostly (not all) turned black..

Maybe because its more humid in Batu Pahat, my nights are cooler and its does not receive too much direct sunlight. And maybe my rajah loves cool fresh air? I ocassionally shower it with ice cubes all around the pot like hail only slower.

Hi Aaron

Thats fast of you...

Anyways to the topic...I definitly agree that your place is more humid..Cos in my terrarium it only gets to 70 rarely reaching 75%....Lowest in the terrarium i've seen so far is in the afternoon 60%...In my opinion i think rajah can still take this kind of humidity..Why why why..Maybe its air circulation? Since the only time rajah gets fresh air is when i take it out to water it..BTW guys i added a tiny question..

Ken i would defenantly say your issue lies with air circulation, humidity, and possibly your soil type. rajah can take months to settle in also. just give it time.

I agree with you guys, humidity is something of a problem which can't be completely solved as our growing area is limited to what can grow at its best potential. I still can't get my bicals to pitcher and I always fail to induce pitchering in amps no matter how many types of medium and different locations I place them so there's my dilemma. Hopefully there's a certain time of year which causes a temperature and humidity fluctuation that can help your rajah pitcher.

Hope your rajah pitchers well. Although mine has pitchers on every leaf but they are still small. Wish they grow bigger more faster.

Hi...

Air circulation? I always thought that neps don't need much of that..Okays then..Sometimes i shall take my rajah out from the terrarium..Argh so much work..Since i can put much into my lousy terrarium..I am gonna get aquarium lights and use it for my terr too i guess...So far the light is considered okay since its by the window ( not really window ) But anyways i shall give extra lights...Humidity i can't do much unless there is a humidifier which is as small as half of my hand and doesn't need a plug lol..Battery humidifiers lol as if there is such thing...Soil type i use LFS and perlite normal plain old nep mix which i always use..

Hi Ken,
There's a much simpler and cheaper way to increase humidity in a terrarium. All u need is an air pump, air pipe, air stone and a container to hold water. Just put one of this in your terrarium (or 2 if your terrarium is big). You just need to add water when it's dry.

You can also use the air pump to induce some minimal air circulation in your terrarium as well... hope this help.

Hi cpnut/robert??

Anyways air pump? I have very little idea of those materials....I check them out but those are aquarium air pumps and i assume u were talking about that?? And why the air pipe? And what can a air stone do out of water may i know? I mean of course it does like u said but may i know what? And so you mean air pump into container?
