Hi everyone
Mainly is just asking normally in our typical lowland conditions how big pitcher does a ventricosa gives???? I can't really say for mine since i cut its main stem to the bottom and left the 2 basals to grow by itself and after many months yeah they seem to grow much faster but still are only about 7-9cm tall since they are compact growers ![]() Ken

N. dicksoniana prefers drier media, I plant them lowland condition at the edge of porch with direct sunlight but not full sun. & it's doing ok for me, pitchers about 4". I also grow albomarginata ,ventricosa & lady pauline in the same condition except I also bag / put in terrarium the lady pauline & ventricosa - they love the high moisture!

Hi Athene
N dicksoniana likes drier media..Okay that probally means more drainage since it has veitchii in it..I somehow can get my lady pauline to do anything for me here...albo is pitchering just nice and ventricosa already mentioned..So i guess dicksoniana doesn't need those intermediate conditions then.. Hi,
Since we're discussing about ventricosa, I might as well ask you all here. My ventricosa "black peristome" from MT been producing pitcher with irregular coloration on it's peristome. The coloration of the pitcher also become paler compared to just a few months ago. The plants is fine and the pitcher size is slowly increasing in size on every new pitcher. I think it might be due to recent dry weather that's been going on for almost 2 months (without any rain) and I kept all my neps outdoor. I believe the recent production of basals for this ventricosa is also probably due to the weather related stress. What do you think?? Pic of the latest pitcher ![]() Close up shot of it's peristome ![]() Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ![]() |
